Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix realized early on that she had a talent in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed 2nd in the 200 meter event at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from high school and subsequently signed an official contract to Adidas. In 2004 she began her studies at an institution called the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. A year later Felix won the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making the world junior record running 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007, she won this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently within the top three in her various races in the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
